All lanes reopen on Florida's Turnpike after truck fire, crash in St. Lucie County

All lanes of Florida's Turnpike have reopened in St. Lucie County after a truck fire and a separate crash caused major delays Tuesday morning.

The truck fire was reported just before 8 a.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 161, approximately nine miles south of the Okeechobee Road/State Road 70 exit.

Officials initially closed all southbound lanes while crews worked to extinguish the blaze. One lane later reopened before a separate crash in the same area led to another closure.

As of the latest update, all southbound lanes have reopened and traffic is beginning to move through the area. However, motorists may continue to experience residual delays as congestion clears.

It's unclear what caused the truck fire or whether anyone was injured in either incident. WPTV has reached out to the Florida Highway Patrol for additional information.

This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
